2026 Jaime Whelan Foundation Fundraiser Update

Please SAVE THE DATE
Saturday, September 19th, 2025.
After much reflection, we have decided to host one final annual fundraiser for the Jaime Whelan Foundation.
While this will be our last formal fundraiser, the Jaime Whelan Foundation is not going anywhere. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of this community over nearly two decades, we have raised more than we have distributed — and we intend to keep honoring Jaime's memory by continuing to award scholarships and provide financial support to deserving members of the Long Beach community for years to come.
But first — one more celebration. And we want to make it the biggest and best one yet.
Thank you, as always, for being part of this mission and for honoring Jaime’s legacy with us.
Please continue to follow us on our social media channels for all future event information at Instagram or Facebook.
Sincerely,
James and Joe Whelan
JWF: Helping support the recovery efforts of Brendan Wagner
We are proud to announce that the Jaime Whelan Foundation is donating $10,000 to support the recovery efforts of Brendan Wagner.
Brendan is a fellow Long Beach Catholic School alum who was involved in a terrible car accident in December 2013, which caused a severe spinal cord injury and stroke resulting in paralysis from the neck down. Brendan is unable to breathe on his own and therefore relies heavily on electricity to power the machines that help him breathe. He is currently in a rehabilitation facility in NYC but his family is doing all they can to get him to his home to continue his recovery.
The JWF’s $10,000 donation will be used to equip Brendan’s house with a generator, which will ensure consistent operation of those life-saving machines in all circumstances.
